The Museum Methods class is offered
through the Department of Behavioral Sciences and is taught by the Museum
Director Judith Stewart- Abernathy. The focus of the course is Museum
approaches to the care and interpretation of cultural resources (artifacts,
heirlooms, oral histories, etc.), interpretive techniques of exhibit and
education-outreach materials, and integrating museum interpretation and
education into public school and general public programming. It allows the
students to:

Find out how and why museums take care of all that stuff they collect!

Participate in developing materials for Museum education and interpretation for
real programs, not just a class exercise!
